HOME OF YOUR BALTIMORE LIGHTNING

W.A.C. Hughes Stadium, home to Morgan State University’s football and track & field teams, is a historic venue named after alumnus William A.C. Hughes Sr., who introduced football to the school in 1897. Opened in 1937, the stadium quickly became a powerhouse in Black college football, hosting legendary coaches Eddie Hurt and Earl Banks, and producing NFL Hall of Famers like Len Ford and Willie Lanier. It also nurtured a dominant track & field program. A $14 million renovation in 2001 upgraded the facility with modern amenities, and in 2017, new LED displays and an audio system were added to enhance the fan experience.
